Create a Digital Sign in Map Editor

Every time you need to create a new digital sign, you will be doing this in map editor.

Steps

1. In the PAM navigation menu, go to 360 Planner > Map Editor

2. Select Digital sign in the Feature Tools section

3. Click on the map where you want to place your digital sign

4. Leave Double sided unticked as we will only use a one-sided sign

5. Apply Dictionary Item as ‘QR Code touchpoint QR 001’. This is the name of the Digital Sign.

6. We have set the rotation as ‘116’ to make it face the direction we want. You may need to adjust the number to place the sign in the right direction. Please trial and error this step as there is no one single correct direction for a sign to be placed

7. Label sort index: The higher the number, the smaller the label (name of the digital sign which is set in Step 5) will look like when viewed on the map.

8. Label display: Choose how you would like to view the QR Code touchpoint label on the map.
The dropdown menu choices you can select from is - Icon Only, Text and Icon, or Text Only.

We have selected “Icon Only” so the map would show an icon of the QR Code as the label.

9. Enable Locked to lock your Digital Sign at that location. This means you cannot move it to different areas on the map until you unlock it.

10. Save changes

We will now assign this to the sign we want within the Digital Signs section.

11. In the PAM navigation menu go to 360 Planner > Digital Signs

12. Select Digital Sign Map

13. Select the Digital sign you created

14. When you click into the sign, you can see the name of it. The name ‘QR code touchpoint QR 001’ was the name we chose in step 5.

15. All newly-created signs will have an empty layout, so click the Layout drop-down option to see which kind of sign you want this to be.

16. For this example, we chose ‘Digital Gateway’ just to show you what happens next.

Digital Gateway will only appear as an option if the “Double sided” in step 4 is left unticked.

17. Since we chose ‘Digital Gateway', the settings associated with this specific sign has appeared. Depending on which sign type you chose, you may see different settings.

Continuing with our example, you can scan the QR Code with your smartphone to activate the eXplorer map. Users can also download the QR Code if they wish to print the QR code on a physical signboard or select the Open Link button to open up eXplorer map on their browser.

18. Save changes once happy with your configurations.
