Interactive Kiosk Configuration Settings

Interactive Kiosk is a layout used to display the virtual twin of your map and provide visitors with a way-finding solution and experience (events) information. Visitors are helped to find a specific location and scan a QR Code to show the navigation route directly from the current kiosk location to the destination with an optional hand-off to their smartphone device.

Before proceeding with this article, users are required to have added a Digital Sign to Map

The information below includes more details on Interactive Kiosk settings, the sections have been divided for your convenience, if needed.

Accessible Global Configuration

This allows you to set the default height of the content area, based on the physical mount height of the screen as this can differ.

1. We will focus on the details underneath the Accessible component

2. Configure Content Vertical Position in Pixels. The default pixel is 336. The minimum is 294 pixels and the maximum is 840 pixels. The higher the number, the lower the content container will be positioned by default, making it more reachable to those with a shorter stature.

When you adjust Content Vertical Position in Pixels the photo below will show you where the default pixel 336 is. The minimum 294 pixels and maximum 840 pixels is also shown to give you a general guide of the placement.

Parking Status Mapping Global Configuration

1. This option enables you to override the name of parking statuses. e.g. If you were to fill in the word 'AVAILABLE' in the text box, the parking status ‘OPEN’ will then say 'AVAILABLE’ on the parking signs'

Map Global Configuration Settings

Adjusting these settings will let you see these changes as you use an Interactive Kiosk and Explorer. You can play around with the zoom in, zoom out function and see how the Interactive Kiosk screen is oriented when you first activate it.

1. Default map style: This is the option to make your Interactive Kiosk to be viewed in either light or dark mode as the default setting

2. Default pitch: This lets you change the default view when the Interactive Kiosk is loaded up.

4. Zoom range: This lets you adjust the default setting on how far or how close you want to be on a map when you first open it up on the Kiosk. The lower the zoom range number, the further you will be zoomed out the map and can see more surroundings

5. Enable Night Safe routing: Activating this toggle will let you show night safe routes between locations if they exist.

Nearby vs Further away

When you use the search bar to type in locations, you may notice that the results have a nearby and a further away filter heading. This is not configurable to remove or edit in the settings.

The reason why we have this in place is because it uses the Kiosk location to determine how far places are.

Currently, we have configured the distance of locations as the following:

  1. NEARBY = All locations that are 250m or less from the Kiosk / Scanned Location

  2. FURTHER AWAY = All locations that are more than 250m from the Kiosk / Scanned location

For our example below, our Kiosk location is closer to NFL Fan Shop 2. This indicates to us that it is the closer option but we also have other options such as NFL Fan Shop 1, which is further away.
