Parking Lot Sign Configuration Settings
In this article, you will learn about to configure Parking Lot Signs.
Parking Lot signs are situated at the entrances of parking lots and will display information such as ‘status’, ‘rates’, ‘space availability' as well as custom messaging.
The information can be changed by switching scenes which allow different messaging to be displayed on the sign based on it’s usage, such as Ride-share, Shuttle Services or Staff Parking.
The main difference between a Digital Directional sign and a Parking Lot sign is that a Parking Lot sign is linked to a Parking Lot Area. Parking Manager is then used to control Parking Lot ‘status’, ‘rates’ and ‘space availability'.
We have three different types of Parking Lot Signs
P5.2 → Is a concrete-mounted sign typically seen in front of a parking lot area, usually at the entrance
V6 → Is a wall-mounted sign. Has the same size dimensions as V6.2
V6.2 → Is a pole-mounted sign. Has the same size dimensions as V6
Difference between a Parking Lot Sign and a Parking Lot area
You may notice in our articles that we tell you to create a Parking Lot in Map Editor and also to add a Parking Lot Digital Sign in Map Editor as well.
Why do we need both?
Creating a Parking Lot area in Map Editor will give you the ability to set the status, rates and space availability for that specific parking lot.
Creating a Parking Lot Digital Sign in Map Editor will give you the ability to direct customers into the correct parking lot by linking the Parking Lot Digital Sign to the Parking Lot area you created.
As a quick example, if I created Parking Lot A as my area. I will then create a Parking Lot Digital Sign and place it outside Parking Lot A. The sign will be linked to Parking Lot A to show the right information to tell people what parking lot this is along with it’s ‘status’, ‘rates’ and ‘space availability’.
Before proceeding with this article, users are required to have added a Digital Sign to Map since the Parking Lot Sign is a Digital Sign
Parking Sign Global Configuration Settings
Adjusting the settings here will adjust all existing and newly created parking lot signs
1. In the PAM navigation menu, to 360 Planner > Digital Signs
2. Select the SIGN CONFIGURATION tab
3. Select 'Parking Lot Sign’ from the list and you will see the right-hand side column appear with the settings for your configuration
GENERAL tab
ICON sub-tab
4. Icon: The blue parking icon is the default option. Select the dropdown to choose another icon. You will need to have uploaded icons in order to see more options.
AVAILABLE SPACES sub-tab
5. Label: You can add a message to say how many spaces are left. This will appear after the number.
(e.g. 120 “Available”)
6. Label text colour: Change the colour of your label here. The default is white, #FFF
RATES sub-tab
7. Rates text colour: Change the colour of your rates here. The default is yellow #FDC427
(e.g. $12 hr / $25 day will be in yellow colour)
LAYOUT SPECIFIC tab
8. Sign type: Select the dropdown to choose a specific sign type that you want to use.
9. Let’s say you chose sign type P 5.2 - you can change the Width (px) of the sign
10. Let’s say you chose sign type 5.2 - you can also change the Icon size (px) of the icon you will use
11. Activate Show Icon if you want to show the icon on the sign
FORMAT sub-tab
12. Text Align: Select the dropdown and choose if you want to display your text in the centre or on the left side of the sign type
PARKING STATUS MAPPING sub-tab
In this section, you can replace any of the status names with your own customised name.
You can keep the defaults if you are happy with the default status names.
13. Open: Instead of open, you can have a status that says “available”
14. Closed: Instead of closed, you can have a status that says “unavailable”
15. Full: Instead of full, you can have a status that says “filled”
16. Reserved: Instead of reserved, you can have a status that says “pre-booked”
17. Hidden/Disabled: Instead of hidden/disabled, you can have a status that says “Not for public use”

Parking Lot Sign Individual Configuration Settings
For Parking Lot Sign P 5.2
1. In the PAM navigation menu, to 360 Planner > Digital Signs
2. Select DIGITAL SIGN MAP tab
3. Search / select / use the filter option to find a Parking Lot sign
Click on it and the settings on the right-hand side will appear
4. This is a preview of the parking lot sign. Any changes you configure will automatically appear here
5. Layout says “Parking Sign” so this is confirmation we are configuring the correct sign type
6. Sign type: Click the dropdown to change it to a different parking lot sign type
7. Use Pixel Design: Selecting this option makes all the wordings on the sign become a pixilated font.
This option can be used if it helps the drivers notice the signs more clearly
Parking Lot section
8. Name: This is the parking lot that is linked to the sign. Click on the dropdown to choose another parking lot to link the sign with. You need to choose a parking lot here in order to activate the toggles below
9. Show Icon: Activate this toggle if you want to show the icon
10. Show Parking Status: Activate this toggle if you want to show the status
11. Show Available Spaces: Activate this toggle if you want to show spaces
12. Show Rates: Activate this toggle if you want to show the rates for using this parking lot
Title Slot section
13. Select icon: Select the dropdown to choose another icon. The default icon is the blue parking one. When you choose an icon, the preview of how the icon looks like can be seen on the left.
14. Icon Size (px): Adjust the size of the icon here. The higher the number, the bigger the icon will be. You can see the changes live on the sign preview.
15. Title slot: Select the dictionary item name that you want placed underneath the icon
16. Select the settings icon for more configuration options for the title slot
17. You can adjust the size of the dictionary item name by clicking the smaller A or bigger A.
If it is highlighted in blue, it means that is what has been selected
18. You can include a line to go underneath the dictionary item that acts as a divider.
If it is highlighted in blue, it means that is what has been selected
19. Text: You can change the colour of the text colour
20. Background: You can change the colour of the background for the text colour
21. Look at the preview and notice that we now have an orange background for part of the sign
Content Slot section
22. There are two slots for you to add two dictionary items. These slots show the messaging content of the parking lot sign (i.e. messages to remind drivers to “please slow down” or “no tailgating”). Go and add a dictionary item to the content slot
23. Select the settings icon for more configuration options for the content slot
24. You can include a line to go underneath the dictionary item that acts as a divider.
If it is highlighted in blue, it means that is what has been selected
25. Text: You can change the colour of the text colour
26. Background: You can change the colour of the background for the text colour
27. Reminder to look at the preview of how your parking lot may look like. Adjust the settings again if needed
28. Save changes
For Parking Lot Sign V 6 & 6.2
1. In the PAM navigation menu, to 360 Planner > Digital Signs
2. Select Digital Sign Map tab
3. Search / select / use the filter option to find a Parking Lot sign. Click on it and the settings on the right-hand side will appear

Different layout combinations
The follow is an example of the different layout combinations you can have on your parking lot signs.
This will give you a general idea of where everything is located and what the customer would see.
For sign types V6/V6.2, the setup is done in a similar way. The main difference for V6/V6.2 signs is that they have more room which lets them show more options at once since they are a longer sign.
(i.e. You can activate all the toggles and still have room to include content slot messaging)
