Assigning icons and logos to the map

In this article, you will learn how to assign logos to the Kiosk map using Map Editor.

The information below has been divided up into sections as there are two ways of assigning an icon/logo to the Kiosk map. Refer to either section by clicking on the links.

Before proceeding with this article, you are expected to have:

  • Uploaded a logo/icon to the Icon library

  • Dictionary category for the location that you wish the logo to be assigned to

  • Destination dictionary for the location that you wish the logo to be assigned to

Option 1: Select your location and assign a dictionary item containing your logo to that location

Steps

1. In the PAM navigation menu, go to 360 Planner > Map Editor

2. Select your location on the map


3. Set the feature Type according what your location is

4. Assign the location to the Dictionary Item that contains your logo

5. Choose Label Display: Icon Only or Both Icon & Text

6. Activate Locked to make your location unmovable

7. [ADD A CUSTOM DISPLAY POINT] (use this tool to control where the label sits within the location)


8. After clicking custom display point, you can move the label on the building around (this is optional, otherwise you can just save changes if the label is already in the correct spot)

In our example, the green dot signifies the label so it now has been moved.

9. Make sure Locked is activated to stop the label from being moved

10. Save changes


Open the Interactive Kiosk Map to preview the latest changes

11. In the PAM navigation menu, go to 360 Planner > Digital Signs

12. Select Digital Sign Map tab

13. Click on an Interactive Kiosk Digital Sign (usually starts with 4.2 / the layout should say Interactive Kiosk)

14. Open up SignID


15. A new tab will open and you can view the Interactive Kiosk. You will need to search the map to find where the newly placed logo / icon is located

Steps

1. In the PAM navigation menu, go to 360 Planner > Map Editor

2. Underneath the Feature Tools area, click on Point


3. Choose a spot on the map. We have planted our ‘point’ feature type with the dot that is showing up as (i.e. PAM) The point feature type will typically be represented as a red dot before you click on it.

4. From the drop-down menu, choose the correct Dictionary Item that contains your logo (i.e. PAM)

5. Choose Label Display: Icon Only or Both Icon & Text

6. Activate Locked

7. Save changes


Open the Interactive Kiosk to preview the latest changes

8. In the PAM navigation menu, go to 360 Planner > Digital Signs

9. Select Digital Sign Map tab

10. Click on an Interactive Kiosk Digital Sign (usually starts with 4.2 / the layout should say Interactive Kiosk)

11. Open up SignID


12. A new tab will open and you can view the Interactive Kiosk. You will need to search the map to find where the newly placed logo / icon is located

HINT: Please remember to always save changes no matter how small AND if other pages are opened in different tabs, you must refresh them for the changes to be seen.

For example, in this article, the user may have Map Editor and Digital Signs opened in different tabs. When changes to Map Editor have been saved, the Digital Signs tab needs to be refreshed to see the new changes.
