Introduction to Dictionary

The Dictionary is PAM's source of truth which is a concept used to help anyone who uses PAM to have access to the same data in a centralised location and contains all the information applied to Digital Signs and Locations in the Map.

There are two dictionary types:

1. Destination Dictionary

2. Messaging Dictionary

There is also a directory that allows for the creation of tenants which is part of the dictionary feature.

3. Tenants Directory

Destination dictionary

To access: In the PAM navigation menu, go to Dictionary > Destination Dictionary

Destination Dictionary items are applied to locations in your map, for example building names. Destination Dictionary items are more than just the locations name they also include additional properties for the eXplorer map, such as adding an icon, 3D assets, and override dark/light mode colour of your locations.

Messaging dictionary

To access: In the PAM navigation menu, go to Dictionary > Messaging Dictionary

Messaging Dictionary items are not meant to contain Destination/Location names, but they are more towards regulatory information, for example ‘wrong way’ or ‘go back.’ These messages can be added into Digital Signs.

Tenants directory is a dictionary feature that allows for the creation of tenant details and linking them to either the retail, services, food and entertainment industries.
