This article will aim to show you how to add and configure a QR code inside directional signs. This provides an additional option for QR codes to be shown in another sign type and not just through the Interactive Kiosk.

QR code global configuration settings

The global settings is primarily focused on the text message that is displayed above the QR code.

4. On the right-hand side, we will focus on the Explorer QR Code Digital Gateway heading

5. Call to action: This is a message that is placed on top of the QR code. The purpose of this message is to make the customer scan the QR code with their mobile device. The default message is: Scan for map.
You are able to customise your message if you wish

6. Call to action text colour: This lets you customise the call to action message by changing the text colour. The default colour used is white.

Activating the QR code in Directional signs

You need to activate the QR code for each sign individually for it to be seen in directional signs.

7. The reason why the Call to Action text message colour is blue is because that’s what it was we have set on inside the global configuration settings. (Refer to photo above)

What if the QR code is cropped off?

You may run into a scenario where the QR code is slightly cropped off like the photo below.

To fix this, you will need to remove some of the content in inside your Content slots for this particular sign.

This is necessary as adequate space must be given is needed to support the size of the QR code and the Call to action message. If you absolutely require your Content slot content to remain, you may need to create a new Directional sign in order to slot your QR code in without any cropping issues.

8. Click on the 'x' button to remove a specific location from the Content slots. You may need to remove more than 1 location to fit the QR code successfully

9. Once some Content slot items have been removed, notice in the preview that the QR code has enough space to be fully visible in the Directional sign.

10. We have kept some of the other Content slot content as it didn’t disrupt the space for the QR code

When working on Directional signs, you are free to show a QR code alone by itself, Content slots without a QR code or a combination of both QR code with Content slots
