In this article, users will learn how to use Map Properties in Destination Dictionary to override map properties in Navigation Map.
Overview
To access Map Properties:
Go to Dictionary > Destination Dictionary > Select and open a Destination Dictionary
Prominence override controls the size of the text label of your location in the Navigation Map
Available to navigation maps will enable a user to assign the Dictionary Item to a location using Map Editor
Hide from search will disable the location from being searchable in the Navigation Map
Override dark mode colour if you wish to colour your location for a dark mode Navigation Map
Override light mode colour if you wish to colour your location for a light mode Navigation Map
Assign icon/logo to the Dictionary Item. This enables you to select ‘icon’ as a display option in Map Editor
Select a 3D model from the 3D assets dropdown. This enables you to assign the 3D model in Map Editor
Save changes
Apply Map Properties to Navigation Map
When ‘Available to Navigation Maps’ is activated, a user will now be able to assign the Dictionary Item to a location using Map Editor
Steps
Go to 360 Manager > Map Editor
Select the drawing of the location in Map Editor
Set the ‘Feature-type’ that is suitable to your type of location
Apply Dictionary Item for the location
To display the icons, choose Label display: Icon only / Both Text and Icon
Select children (location) within the location if there are any. By selecting children, you are creating location hierarchy. Learn more about location hierarchy PRDCT - 183 How to create location hierarchy
'Override Extrude' is used to extrude the height of the location. Activate ‘override extrude’ and set the height of the location in metres (Guide 3 Metres is usually 1 story building)
‘Start extrude height’ is ideally only used for building bridges between 2 buildings. (e.g. If you set ‘Start extrude height’ as 2 metres, your building will hover 2 metres above the ground.)
Activate ‘Hidden (disabled)’ if you wish to hide this location from the Navigation Map
Activate ‘locked’ to lock the location
a. Add custom display point (use this tool to control where your logo or label sits within the location)
10. b. After clicking on custom display point, you are able to move the logo/text within the drawing of the location
11. Save changes
