In this article, users will learn how to prepare logos so that they can be uploaded into PAM.

This process has been split into 3 separate articles:

1. /wiki/spaces/PAMHC/pages/2623308151

2. How to prepare logos for PAM (current article)

3. How to upload icons and logos into PAM

How to prepare logos for PAM

PAM requires both .SVG and .PNG file logos when uploading a logo.

1. 1x .SVG file - This file type is required for the main logo

2. 2x .PNG files - This file type is required for the dark and light mode map. When dark mode is selected, the logo for dark mode will appear and when light mode is selected, the logo for light mode will appear.

You can prepare them in any 'editor' of your choice. A good example would be Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator or Figma. We will be using Adobe XD for this tutorial.

How to prepare logos in Adobe XD

Logos are typically created as a vector file. A vector file is a scalable and editable image that is commonly used in graphic design and illustration software programs. The common vector file types include .svg, .ai, and .eps. You need to import logos that support any of these 3 vector file types before proceeding.

Note: Logos can’t be raster images such as .PNG or .JPG

Steps

1. Open Adobe XD > Import your vector file logos to Adobe XD

2. Select the artboard tool

3. Create an artboard

4. Maximum size 120px (width) x 32px (height) OR 32px (width) x 120px (height)

5. Place the black and white logos inside the artboard.

Black logo for light map mode and white logo for dark map mode.

6. Select both logos

7. Click File > Export > Selected

8. Select format as a .PNG file

9. Click Export

10. PAM also requires an .SVG main file logo to be used for general admin such as Print / Planning Map. For this purpose, we recommend using the black coloured logo for the main logo file type.

11. Click on File > Export > Selected

12. Select format as an .SVG file

13. Click on Export
