In this article, users will create dictionary categories in PAM.


Create Dictionary Categories

Before a user adds a destination dictionary item into PAM, the user will need to create Categories for their destinations (locations).

PAM recommends creating the following Destination Categories:

PAM recommends creating the following Messaging Categories:

Other


Steps

1. On the PAM navigation board, click on Dictionary > Categories

2. Click on [+ ADD CATEGORY] > Users have the option of adding a new category for two dictionary types, Destination and Messaging

3. Add a category Identifier - A short CODE to Identify Category (i.e. For all Primary Destinations, the Identifier is PRIMARY)

4. Fill in the category description, under the Description heading to explain what the Category is used for (i.e. For all BLDG identifiers, the category description is Building)

For this example, we chose to create a Destination Category. The same method can be applied to creating a Messaging Category.

5. Save changes
