In this article, users will create dictionary categories in PAM
Before a user adds a destination dictionary item into PAM, the user will need to create Categories for their locations.
PAM recommends creating the following Destination Categories:

| 1 | PRIMARY | Primary Destinations |
| 2 | BLDG | Buildings |
| 3 | AMENITIES | Amenities |
| 4 | PATHS | Road and Path Names |
| 5 | 3D | 3D Models |
| 6 | SIGNS | Digital Signs Identifiers |
| 7 | PARKING | Parking Lots |
PAM recommends creating the following Messaging Categories:

| 1 | SOS | Emergency |
| 2 | REG | Regulatory |
| 3 | INF | Information |
| 4 | BND | Brand |
| 5 | OTHER | Other |
Steps
1. On the PAM navigation board, click on Dictionary > Categories
2. Users have the option of adding a new category for 2 Dictionary types, Destination and Messaging
3. Add a category Identifier - A short code to Identify Category
(i.e. For all Primary Destinations, the Identifier is PRIMARY)
4. Fill in the category description, to help explain what the Category is used for
5. Save changes
